As a volunteer member of iPhoneAccessories.com, I bring my years of writing and editing skills to bear primarily to synthesize news articles and edit other texts on the website. Professionally, I work as a social scientist and researcher having completed a MA and a PhD in Education. My interests are in the social contexts in which students learn and how generational differences and technological advancements have changed the way youth communicate and create networks. The world of smart phones has caught my attention and as an iPhone user myself, I’m fascinated by the vast world Apple has constructed around its products.
New to the world of Apple, I am like a sponge soaking up all the novelty within this “i” world. Unfortunately many of the social scientific software I use aren’t compatible with Macs, so despite my desire to own one and to use it for my photography (a long time hobby), I use a PC. But I have long been sold on the iPhone and use it daily to keep track of my increasingly complex work and social life. My favorite applications are my KPCC, Chase, Pandora and AccuWeather apps. Boring, I know, but practical, nonetheless.

I wear a few different professional hats, but all in all, I’m a right brain kinda girl. Interested in graphic design, I attended graphic design school for two years before pursuing culinary arts. I can bake you a mean red velvet cake that will tantalize your taste buds and your visual/artistic cravings, but give me an image and I can transform that for you too. My design background drew me to Apple over 5 years ago when I bought my 15” Powerbook G4. I upgraded to a 15” Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard. Currently I’m using my Macbook Pro with the all important anti-glare screen, a Samsung Sync Master P2250 monitor, a Bamboo tablet and the Apple Magic Mouse. When in design school, I learned to use Photoshop and Illustrator and since then I have added Final Cut Pro and Virtual DJ to my repertoire.

The internet has always been my playground and I’ve been fascinated by the power of the World Wide Web in bringing people from all over the world together around a common cause or interest. That’s what drew me to become a contributor on this blog. But of course, the topic is what’s most interesting to me. Since its release, I have owned every version of the iPhone and have loved every upgrade and every improvement. I follow the industry closely and given my technical background, have a keen sense of what works and what needs improvement.
